People of dubious background not to be allowed to buy land

Making his government’s stance clear on the matter of sale and purchase of land in Uttarakhand, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is going to prepare a manual. “Those who want to buy land in the state must fit the manual. People are settling in Uttarakhand about whom there is hardly any information,” he said.
Notably, the state cabinet in its last meeting decided to make strict provisions regarding encroachment on government land and sale and purchase of land. The state government will gather all information about those who want to buy land and for this, the state government is going to bring an ordinance.
Talking to the media persons, CM said that those who are eligible would be allowed to buy land in the state. “This will stop people of dubious background from settling down in Uttarakhand. We must ensure that peace is maintained in the state as this state is the centre of culture and spirituality,” he said.
