Govt providing free treatment to dengue patients: Rawat

The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat informed the Assembly on Wednesday that the State government is providing free treatment to the dengue patients under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. In response to a question asked by the deputy leader of Congress legislature party, Bhuwan Kapdi, the minister said that 911 patients of dengue have been reported till Tuesday evening in the State and out of them 713 have recovered. The minister said that the State has 193 active patients of the disease. He said that the Health department has set up isolation wards in different hospitals for the dengue patients in which there are 2,017 beds. Rawat said that 20 per cent of these beds are vacant. The minister said that the Health department will organise voluntary blood donation camps to meet the challenge posed by the dengue.
In response to a question by Doiwala MLA, Brij Bhushan Gairola, the Parliamentary Affairs minister Prem Chand Agarwal said that a scheme for providing self employment opportunities to the single women in the State is proposed to be launched soon.
