Govt standing with affected families: Dhan Singh Rawat

The health and education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the affected families in Joshimath city would be displaced as per their desire and five places have been earmarked for shifting them. He was interacting with the media persons on Saturday. Rawat, who also is the district in charge of Chamoli, said that the first priority of the government was to protect the life of the people of Joshimath. He claimed that the city has witnessed a break in the situation of land subsidence recently which is a matter of relief.
The minister said that the State government is standing firmly with the people of the city in this hour of crisis and the State cabinet has taken a slew of measures in the interests of the affected families. He added that the State government has decided to undertake surveys in all parts of the State and development works would be undertaken in a planned manner. He said that the state government and administration is in touch with the people in Joshimath.
The State president of BJP Mahendra Bhatt was also present on the occasion.
