In view of the alleged irregularities in the record room of the registrar’s office in Dehradun, deputy registrar of the stamp and registration department Ramdutt Mishra was suspended on the order of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday.
As per the suspension order issued by the state administration, Mishra has been accused of tampering in the registries, not fulfilling his duties with integrity and has reportedly shown his blatant disregard for the rules, regulations and government orders.
The said act is a clear violation of Rule 3(1) and Rule 312) of Uttaranchal State Employees’ Conduct Rules, 2002. These allegations are quite serious in nature and if established, Mishra can face severe punishment as per the law, stated the order. It further stated that Mishra will receive an allowance during his suspension as per the rules after he submits a certificate to the effect that he is not engaged in any other employment. He will remain attached to the office of the assistant inspector general of registration in Dehradun during the suspension period.
The State government recently received reports regarding several irregularities like some rackets, original registry papers being changed or missing from the record room in Dehradun in connivance with the employees of the registrar’s office and the land mafia. It was also revealed during the district administration’s inquiry that some land mafia elements were reportedly adding fake documents by replacing the original registry in the record room to carry out land fraud, one of the major crimes in the State.
The CM had also conducted a surprise inspection of the record room in Dehradun last week. On his order, a special investigation team has also been formed to check irregularities in order to take necessary action against the guilty party.
