Govt to appoint 439 assistant professors in medical colleges

The Medical Education department has started the process of appointment to 439 vacant posts of assistant professors in the government medical colleges of the State.
Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government has taken a decision to fill the vacant faculty positions in the medical colleges and the Medical Education department has sent recruitment requisition to the Medical Services Recruitment Board.
He said that the board will soon release the advertisement and start the process of appointments. He informed that out of 439 posts, 218 are for general category while 112 will be kept reserved for scheduled caste, nine for scheduled tribes, 68 for other backward classes and 32 for the economically weaker sections.
The minister said that the state government is committed to fill all the vacant posts of faculty members in the government medical colleges. He added that the Medical Education director has been asked to fill the promotion posts of professors and associate professors in the medical colleges of the State.
