The Garhwal Rifles regimental centre, Lansdowne organised a rally for Indian armed forces veterans and Veer Naris at Gabar Singh camp Kotdwar on Saturday. The rally was attended by about 850 ex-servicemen, 26 Veer Naris and their dependents from the Garhwal region.
The rally provided a joint forum to the veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents to interact with both military and civil agencies, resolve pending issues and enlighten them upon the latest facilities and schemes being run by the government towards, welfare of the veterans. Stalls of Army and civil administration were set up at the rally site to address the issues. The ex servicemen were also felicitated on the occasion.
The General Officer Commanding (GoC), Uttar Bharat Area, lieutenant general Zubin A Minwalla, GoC Uttarakhand sub area major general R Prem Raj, commandant, Garhwal Rifles regimental centre brigadier Vijay Mohan Chaudhari and other senior officers of the army and civil administration were present during the event.
