The Congress candidate from Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency Ganesh Godiyal has said that a strong opposition is essential for a healthy democracy and the people of the country have given their mandate in which the opposition is very strong. In a message, Godiyal who lost to Anil Baluni of the BJP said that the mandate of the people is such that both NDA and INDIA bloc are in position to form the next government at the Centre. Congratulating Baluni, he said that the mandate of the people should be respected. Godiyal said that he had hoped that he would raise the issue of injustice to Ankita Bhandari in parliament but now he will fight on the streets for this. He added that he will continue to struggle on the streets against the Agnipath scheme and for the people of Garhwal.
