Graduation ceremony of ACC cadets held at IMA Dehradun

In a glittering graduation ceremony held at Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun on Friday, 71 cadets of the Army Cadet College (ACC) were awarded degrees after completion of their three-year academic and military training. The event was attended by parents, faculty members and senior military officers. 

The IMA commandant, lieutenant general Nagendra Singh awarded bachelor’s degrees – affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi- to 30 cadets from the Science stream and 41 cadets from the Humanities stream of the 126th course of the ACC.

ACC is a premier institution of the Indian Army that serves as a feeder to the IMA Dehradun. Its curriculum is designed to ensure comprehensive development – academically, physically and mentally. Cadets undergo a structured graduation programme combined with rigorous military training aimed at instilling the qualities required of future commissioned officers. The graduating cadets will join the IMA in January 2026 for a one-year pre-commissioning training as officer cadets. 

          In his convocation address, Lt Gen Nagendra Singh congratulated the cadets for completing their training and highlighted the significance of this milestone in their careers. He emphasised that character, discipline, courage, motivation, a positive mindset and professional competence are the essential foundations of effective military leadership.

In the ceremony the chief of army staff (COAS) gold medal was given to Hari Keshar Wagle, while COAS silver and bronze medal were given to Sagar Uppal and Kulvinder respectively. The commandant’s Silver medal for being first in services, humanities and Science streams were awarded to Bhavya Chauhan, Hari Keshar Wagle and Sagar Uppal respectively. The commandant’s banner was awarded to Kargil company for being adjudged the champion company of the ACC.

 The commandant commended the commander of ACC brigadier Peeyush Khurana along with the instructional staff and faculty, for their dedicated efforts in mentoring and shaping the cadets.
