A woman from Gurugram visiting Badrinath with her family died on the spot after being hit by a car being driven by an allegedly drunk ITBP Jawan near Mana Tiraha on Wednesday night. According to sources, the 29-year old woman identified as Sandhya Kumar was run over by the I-10 card of the Jawan at about 10:15 PM near a Dharmshala.
According to the Badrinath police station in-charge Satendra Singh, the accused has been identified as Deepak who is posted in the ITBP 23rd battalion in Mana. He was driving his car allegedly drunk when he ran over the woman on Wednesday night. The woman was dragged for some distance along with the car resulting in serious head injury and death on the spot. The woman had come along with her husband and five-year old son to pay obeisance at Badrinath.
