In latest news from Doon, the Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Rtd) issued an order appointing the district magistrates as administrators of those municipal councils and nagar panchayats whose terms are completing on December 1. Raj Bhavan sources said that the Governor has issued the order under the sub-clause IV of the Clause VIII A of the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act 1959 (Amended in Uttarakhand). It is further stated in the order that the DMs of respective districts would start acting as administrators of these local bodies from December 2 till further order.
