Guv inaugurates 3 new centres in GBPUAT

The Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh unveiled three new centres in Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) namely Madhuvatika, Gaura Devi Training Centre and Devki Nandan Agrawal Student Recreation Centre in the presence of the vice-chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan and the district magistrate of Udham Singh Singh Nagar, Nitin Bhadoria. Notably, a student of the 1960 batch of the Agricultural College of the university Sham Sundar Goyal was present as a special guest.  He funded the establishment of the Devki Nandan Agrawal Student Recreation Centre named after his father and travelled from California along with his family to handover the premises to the university.

The Governor in his address said that with the university making progress in every field, the establishment of these new centres would enable students get practical experience along with academic knowledge. He also congratulated the VC, faculty members, students and staff on the university having got 209th rank in the QS World Rankings this year. “A quantum jump of more than 100 places from last year’s rank of 311 is a very significant achievement,” he added.  

The VC also addressed the inaugural programme.
