Guv inaugurates renovated & beautified Shrichandracharya Chowk
The governor Baby Rani Maurya unveiled the statue of the revered Udaseen Acharya Shrichandra at Shrichandra Chowk on Thursday.
The governor also inaugurated the renovation and beautification works at Shrichandracharya Chowk. Speaking on the occasion the governor said that the Indian culture is of love, brotherhood and social harmony and stressed on the need for removing all social discriminations.
“Our great saints have played an important role in showing the right path to the people. They have inspired people to do good work through their life, and the nation will always be indebted to the saints,” said the governor.
She said that Shrichandra was a great thinker, yogi and ascetic. He also worked to remove the social disparities prevailing in his time. He always worked for nation building and the unity of humanity. Mahant Maheshwardas, the head of the Sripanchayati Akhada Bada Udaseen Nirvana said that Acharya Shrichandra toured the whole of India and propagated Hinduism. He united various sects such as the Shaiv, Vaishnava, Shakt and Ganpatya and started Panchdev worship.
Swami Ramdev said that Acharya Srichandra was a great yogi and ascetic. He had a wonderful combination of devotion, knowledge and yoga.
After the programme, the governor offered prayers at Shri Panchayati Bada Udaseen Akhada for the happiness and prosperity of the state.
