Guv inaugurates Vedic conference

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh inaugurated the All India Vedic Conference hosted by Surat Giri Bangla Ashram at Kankhal in Haridwar on Saturday. In his inaugural address, he threw light on the significance of the Vedic traditions and the foundations of Indian culture. He also underscored the importance of organising such conferences in preserving the essence of the Vedic culture. A number of ascetics and scholars from across the country participated in it. They deliberated on religious, spiritual and social issues. They also hailed the Governor’s initiatives for preserving the Vedic traditions.
