Guv reaches Malari, speaks to jawans

In latest Uttarakhnd news, the Governor Lieutenant General (Rtd) Gurmit Singh met the jawans of ITBP, Army and BRO in Malari village along the Indo-China border in Chamoli district. During his visit to this strategically sensitive village, he lauded the critical role being played by the jawans to maintain the geographical integrity of the country while braving extremely hostile climatic condition in this high-altitude region. He also discussed with them the problems and the challenges they have ben facing.  He stressed on the security of the border villages and said that unless these villages are secure the country cannot be secure. Invoking the vibrant village project meant for the development of the border villages, he said that under this project, these villages are being provided with drinking water, electricity, health, roads, communications and other infrastructural facilities. Thereafter, the Governor reached Badrinath Dham and offered puja. He spoke to the devotees present and took stock of the pilgrimage facilities being provided to them. Then, he reviwed the progress of the Prime Minister-envisaged Badrinath reconstruction master plan with the officers concerned.
