The former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat who recently came back to the Congress from the BJP poured his heart out during his speech in Haridwar. He said that he employed thousands of youth in UPNL and other jobs when he was the minister in Congress government but despite being the minister of employment in BJP government he could not employ a single peon in the last five years. “As the power minister I had declared that 100 units of the electricity would be given free but despite my best efforts the proposal for this was not brought in the cabinet. Now the Congress party has promised to provide free electricity in its manifesto,’’ he said.
