In latest news from Dehradun, rejecting the appeal of the Congress veteran and former State forest minister Harak Singh Rawat to give him one month for poll work, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned him at its office for questioning on the tree felling and construction irregularities involving Corbett National Park on April 2. As per ED sources, Harak Singh’s wife Deepti Rawat has been summoned too for questioning on the same corruption charges. Notably, the ED had summoned Harak twice in February, but he had skipped them, pleading with ED for one month to complete his poll-related works.
Sources close to Harak Singh declined to comment on whether the leader would skip the summon again on the pretext of poll-engagement or appear at ED office for questioning.
