In latest news from Doon, the legal noose seems to have tightened around the neck of the Congress veteran Harak Singh Rawat with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) having provisionally attached immovable property in the form of land of around 101 bighas in Dehradun district worth Rs 70 crore estimated at the current market value in the case of Birendra Singh Kandari and others under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
The former cabinet minister had allegedly hatched a conspiracy along with his associates to usurp prime lands in Dehradun. The attachment was done on the basis of the FIR registered at Sahaspur, Dehradun.
