Haridwar commisioner conducts surprise inspection of city’s cleanliness system

The Haridwar municipal commissioner Varun Chaudhary conducted a surprise inspection of the city’s cleanliness system on Monday. The inspection covered key areas such as Sarvanand Ghat, Bade Shivmurti Park, Govindpuri Ghat and the Kanwad Patri. He found the overall cleanliness in these areas satisfactory during the inspection. However, upon visiting the Vivekananda Park near Shivmurti, Chaudhary noticed encroachments and immediately directed authorities concerned to remove them.
Following this, the team of the Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) began the encroachment removal process. Besides this, the team also imposed fines on individuals caught littering. At Sarvanand Ghat and Shivmurti, five people were fined, leading to a collection of Rs 3,500.
Besides this, seven individuals were also fined at Govindpuri Ghat and Kanwar Patri, resulting in a total collection of Rs 2,200. The commissioner instructed the officials concerned to prioritise maintaining the city’s cleanliness while ensuring strict actions against violators.
