The police said that the free movement of these accused in societies across the Haridwar district is not in the interest of the citizens. Considering this, the SSP Haridwar issued an order to impose Goonda Act on them to carry out externment proceedings against them.

In order to curb the criminal tendency of these 15 accused, the police said that they have imposed the Goonda Act on Wednesday and they are gearing up to send a report to Haridwar district magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey to take further required action on the matter. They said that the police will take all possible measures to prevent any potential criminal activities by these accused. These 15 accused are Parvez, Rehan,  Nafis, Salim, Muntzir, Kala, Ikram, Phoorkaan, Mehboob, Rashid, Soni, Parvez, Yusuf, Wasim and Irshad and all belong to Bhagwanpur area. It is pertinent to mention here that the externment allows the authorities to take preventive measures to extern those whom they consider to potentially cause a threat to people or society from a certain geographical area for a specific period to prevent him/her from committing crimes.
