In latest news from Dehradun, the massive development projects for Ayodhya and its development model have impacted the Uttarakhand government. The State cabinet at its meeting held at the Secretariat decided to develop the two pilgrim towns- Haridwar and Rishikesh- under unified plan. As per the cabinet decision, the places with religious significance and infrastructure would be revamped under the unified plan. In a major decision, the Cabinet canceled the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga Corridor and announced that the work would be done fron now on by Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB). Briefing the media on the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting, the State chief secretary S S Sandhu said that the development of the Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga Corridor would be done in line with the development model being followed in Ayodhya.
