The Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) has constructed the Haridwar sports complex here which was inaugurated by the authority’s vice chairman Anshul Singh on Tuesday. With the inauguration of this facility, the sportspersons will now be able to play and practice in the city instead of travelling long distances to do so.
The sports complex has facilities for various sports and coaching. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had inaugurated this building in December 2024. The HRDA vice chairman informed that all the sporting facilities in the complex have been opened for the general public from Tuesday. International level sporting equipment and coaching will be provided at this sports complex at nominal rates, the officials informed.
It is pertinent to mention here that in addition to beautification and infrastructural development, the HRDA has also been focusing on developing public parks and sporting facilities to encourage a healthy lifestyle and sports culture.
