Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has averred that he would sit on a Dharna either at the Special Investigation Team ( SIT) headquarters or near the Vanantara resort to seek justice for Ankita Bhandari. He took to social media to make this announcement on Monday.
Rawat who is in Rajasthan to participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he would sit on the Dharna to provide strength to the ongoing efforts of people to seek justice for Ankita Bhandari after his return from Rajasthan. He said that a social organisation and some intellectuals who are probing the case on their own believe that attempts are being made to shield the VIP reportedly involved in the case. He said that the demolition of the resort, snapping of the wires of the CCTV cameras and other things such as the incident of fire in the factory owned by father of the accused have agitated the general public of Uttarakhand.
