The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has said that the decision of the Uttarakhand High Court to hand over the investigation of the horticulture scam to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) proves that the BJP government in Uttarakhand is immersed neck-deep in corruption. He said that corruption is rampant in the State and scams in construction works in all the departments occur in collusion with the BJP leaders.
Demanding resignation of the Horticulture minister Ganesh Joshi, Mahara said that the CBI should also investigate the involvement of the minister in the scam. He said that the orders of the HC in the public interest litigation of Ranikhet resident Deepak Kargeti is another setback to the State government in the corruption cases. Mahara said that it is the third incident within a year in which the court has found loopholes in the SIT investigation. He said that earlier also in the cases of illegal felling of trees in Corbett National Park and Pantdweep parking the HC had ordered CBI probe but the State government is continuing to act shamelessly.
