The Uttarakhand High Court heard the contempt petition regarding the ad hoc Vidhan Sabha employees whose services were terminated but not reinstated despite the orders of the court. After hearing the matter on Monday, the single bench of Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra has set the next date of hearing the case on November 24.
According to the case details, Bhupendra Singh Bisht and 13 others had filed the contempt petition in the High Court stating that on October 15, the court had ordered a stay on their termination orders dated September 27, 28 and 29, and had directed that they be reinstated to their posts. Despite this, the Vidhan Sabha authorities have not yet reinstated them to the posts. In the past the petitioners had stated in their petition in the High Court that many appointments were made to posts in the Vidhan Sabha through the backdoor between 2002 and 2015. The petitioners had stated that the government had considered these appointments to be valid and had regularised the employees but the appointments made to posts after 2015 were found to be invalid and the services of the workers were terminated. The High Court had ordered a stay on the termination orders and had directed that the employees in question be reinstated to their posts.
