‘You quote, we pay model’ yielding results: secretary
The Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar has said that the ‘You quote we pay’ model adopted by the State Health department for appointment of specialist doctors is getting good response. He said that second phase of recruitment of the specialist doctors under the novel scheme would commence soon. Kumar said this while chairing the meeting of the executive committee of the Uttarakhand medical and family welfare committee at health directorate on Monday. He said that the appointed specialist doctors have been given postings in the border districts. The secretary informed that the appointment of the specialist doctors is being done as per the norms of IPHS for strengthening health services in the State.
He said that for the first time 32 allopathic doctors have been given sensitisation and general training on AYUSH system of medication from the Uttarakhand Ayurved University and HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University. He opined that by including Ayush system and adopting healthy life style both the non healthy and healthy persons would get benefit. It was decided that more such trainings should be organised in coordination with the AYUSH department.
The additional secretary health Amandeep Kaur, finance controller Amita Joshi, director general of health Dr Vinita Shah, the director National Health Mission (NHM) Dr Saroj Naithani and others were present on the occasion.
