Health Dept ties up with Wish Foundation for better services to Char Dham pilgrims

The Health department of Uttarakhand has entered into an agreement with the Wish Foundation for providing better health services to the pilgrims visiting the Char Dham in the State. The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is consistently endeavouring to strengthen and extend the health services.
He said that the department has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Wish Foundation to strengthen the health services and improve their quality. He said that use of new models will be made under the agreement to develop an accessible primary health system for Char Dham pilgrims and local population. Use of modern technology and digital resources will be made in this endeavour.
The minister added that the medical officers, paramedics and nursing staff deployed in Char Dham Yatra will also be trained to meet emergency situations under the programme. Rawat said that the Wish Foundation will prepare an elaborate roadmap of the Yatra period in consultation with the officers of the health department. He said that the roadmap will be implemented from the next year’s Char Dham Yatra.
The agreement was inked between the director general of state health services Dr Vinita Shah and chief executive officer and retired IAS officer Rakesh Kumar. Former bureaucrat Bhaskar Khulbe, additional secretary of health Amandeep Kaur, director of health Dr Sunita Tamta, Dr Tuhin Kumar, Dr Vivek Yadav for Wish Foundation and others were present in the programme.
