Health dept to change for better in coming months- Minister

The health and education minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that marked improvement would be visible in the health department of Uttarakhand in the coming months. Addressing media persons at the state health directorate here on Saturday he said that the Heli Ambulance service would be strengthened further in the state. He informed that a total of 53 patients have so far availed the benefit of the heli ambulance service in the state. The minister said that the villagers who carry the pregnant women on the palanquins are being remunerated by the state government. He said that a total of 1464 health and wellness centres are operating in different parts of the state which include 1031 sub centres,38 Urban Primary Health Centre and 395 primary health centres.
The Minister said that after being upgraded to Health and Wellness centres from the sub centres, trained Mid Level Health Providers (MLHP) have been appointed in these centres. The screening of uterus, mammary and oral cancer is being done in these centres apart from tests of high Blood Pressure, diabetes and other non communicable diseases.
The health secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, the director general (DG) state health services Dr TriptiBahuguna and others were present on the occasion.
