Health dept to recruit 664 doctors for Wellness centres

The health and family welfare department of Uttarakhand would recruit 664 Community Health Officers (CHO) for strengthening and providing better health facilities in the Wellness centres of the State. The State administration has handed over the task of recruitment of CHOs to the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University and it has released the recruitment advertisements for these posts.
The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has given orders in regard to the senior officers of the department. In a statement, the minister said that the State government has decided to provide better health services in the wellness centres of the State. He said that the department has sanctioned posts of 1604 CHOs out of whom 940 posts are filled and 664 are vacant. The minister informed that 88 posts of CHOs are vacant in Almora. Similarly 23 posts of CHOs in Bageshwar, 26 in Chamoli, 21 in Champawat, 26 in Dehradun, 10 in Haridwar, 29 in Nainital, 125 in Pauri, 104 in Pithoragarh, 19 in Rudraprayag, 145 in Tehri Garhwal, seven in Udham Singh Nagar and 41 in Uttarkashi are vacant. Rawat said that the HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University has initiated the recruitment procedure to fill the vacant posts of CHOs and soon it would provide the list of selected candidates. He added that the State government is committed to strengthen health services in the State.
