Health DG finds flaws in functioning of Pauri district hospital

The hospital is being operated under the PPP mode

The director general of State Health Services Dr Vinita Shah found many irregularities and discrepancies during her inspection of the district hospital in Pauri on Tuesday. The DG is on a two-day visit to the Pauri district. The district hospital of Pauri is being operated by the Mahant Indiresh hospital under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The DG got annoyed on finding discrepancies in the OPD register and other irregularities in the district hospital. She also found differences in the attendance register and biometric attendance and pulled up the officer concerned for this. Surgeon Dr RK Tiwari was found absent by the DG during her visit. She also got dissatisfied on finding that the bed sheets were missing on most of the beds of the hospital. The DG directed the hospital administration to take action against Dr Vijay Yadav who responded in an inappropriate manner on being questioned by the DG. Taking a serious cognisance of the discrepancies in the district hospital the DG directed the chief medical officer (CMO) of Pauri to improve the functioning of the hospital and conduct an inspection within 15 days.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed all the officers of the Health department to visit districts and inspect the health facilities.
