Heat continues to rise in Doon, above normal temperatures recorded in various areas

The temperature in Dehradun and other parts of the State has continued to climb steadily with the maximum temperature in places like Dehradun and Pantnagar remaining just a few notches below 40 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The weather outlook is similar for Monday with dry and hot weather forecast on the day.

According to the State Meteorological Centre, dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 36 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Monday.

With temperatures usually witnessed during the end of April being witnessed during the first week, coming days are expected to be hotter as forecast earlier. The maximum temperature in Dehradun rose a degree from Saturday and reached 36 degrees Celsius (4.7 degrees Celsius above normal) while the minimum was a degree above normal at 17.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Similarly, the maximum and minimum temperatures in other places were 36.6 degrees Celsius and 12.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.1 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.9 degrees Celsius and 12.8 degrees Celsius in Tehri.
