Heavy rain alert issued again for parts of State

With inclement weather likely to continue in the State for some more days, the State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are also likely to occur at isolated places in the State on Tuesday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in the districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies today. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 31.9 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.1 degrees Celsius and 27.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.5 degrees Celsius and 15.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.5 degrees Celsius and 18.9 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Monday with 20 millimetres in Tanakpur, 16.8 millimetres in Dehradun and 15.5 millimetres in Mussoorie.
