Heavy rain alert issued for eight districts today

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to fall in eight districts of the State today. The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at a few places in Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts along with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Friday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in districts of the State with intense showers at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State today. For the provisional State capital Dehradun, the meteorological centre has forecast partly to generally cloudy skies. One or two spells of light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur which may be heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 34.7 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.4 degrees Celsius and 28.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 26 degrees Celsius and 15.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.6 degrees Celsius and 19.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
