Heavy rain alert issued for State today

The State meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall occurring at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat and Pauri districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places with intense showers at isolated places in the districts of Uttarakhand today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies with rain/thundershowers likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 34.6 degrees Celsius and 26.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.4 degrees Celsius and 28.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.8 degrees Celsius and 15.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25 degrees Celsius and 18.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
