Heavy rain alert issued for two districts

Light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Tuesday. The State meteorological centre has issued an alert (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Chamoli and Bageshwar districts on Wednesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Apart from this light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Dehradun districts and at a few places in the remaining districts of the State.
Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were 28.9 degrees Celsius and 23.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 29.8 degrees Celsius and 25.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.6 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.3 degrees Celsius and 18.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 60.5 millimetres rain in Chorgalia, 43 millimetres in Tanakpur, 47 millimetres in Nainidanda, 40.5 millimetres in Nainidanda, 37 millimetres in Sahastradhara/Jolly Grant and 30 millimetres each in Kotdwar and Lansdowne.
