Heavy rain forecast in four districts today

The possibility of heavy rain is forecast at some places in four districts of the State on Sunday. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the likelihood of heavy rainfall occurring at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts and at many places in the remaining districts with intense showers at isolated places in the mountainous parts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday. Meanwhile, a spell of rain in Dehradun on Saturday saw water overflowing on various roads of the city during the daytime. Dehradun received 66.4 millimetres from 8:30 AM to 5:20 PM on Saturday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 34.2 degrees Celsius and 24.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 25.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.4 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26 degrees Celsius and 18.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. According to the meteorological centre, 40 millimetres rainfall was recorded in Yamkeshwar, 32.5 millimetres in Mussoorie, 21.5 millimetres in Karnprayag and 18 millimetres in Lohaghat.
