Heavy rain likely in seven districts today

The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Be Updated) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Almora and Pithoragarh districts and at most places in the remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense/heavy in some areas.Light to moderate rain was witnessed in various areas on Tuesday with 37 millimetres in Laksar, 23.5 millimetres in Kichha, 17.5 millimetres in Rishikesh, 17 millimetres in Pokhri, 13.5 millimetres in Kotdwar, 10.5 millimetres in Champawat, 9.5 millimetres in Nainital, 8.5 millimetres in Gauchar and five millimetres in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 29.9 degrees Celsius and 23.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.4 degrees Celsius and 25.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.1 degrees Celsius and 14.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 25.2 degrees Celsius and 17.7 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
