Heavy rain & thunderstorms forecast across State today

Even as various parts of the State have been witnessing comparatively clear weather for the past couple of days, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Be Updated) regarding the possibility of heavy rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Bageshwar districts on Tuesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at a few places in the remaining districts of the State on Tuesday.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/ thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas.
While Dehradun and some other regions witnessed clear weather on Monday, light to moderate rain was reported in other regions with 29.1 millimetres of rain in Mussoorie, 21.5 millimetres in Pauri, 8.5 millimetres in Lansdowne, 5.5 millimetres in Srinagar and five millimetres in Pratapnagar. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 34.9 degrees Celsius and 23.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34 degrees Celsius and 26.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24 degrees Celsius and 15.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.8 degrees Celsius and 17.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
