Heavy rain & thunderstorms likely in Dehradun & Nainital districts today

Barring a few spells of rain in the morning in Dehradun, no significant rainfall was witnessed in the provisional State capital or most other parts of the State on Sunday. However, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Nainital districts on Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining mountainous districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One to two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday were 31.5 degrees Celsius and 23.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.8 degrees Celsius and 26.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.5 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.9 degrees Celsius and 18.6 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
