In latest news from Doon, the regional meteorological centre has forecast intense to very intense rain accompanied with thunder and lightning at isolated places across Uttarakhand on June 29 while heavy rain may lash a few places the same day. On June 30, the forecast says intense, heavy and very heavy rain may pound the State. Met centre issued orange alert of heavy rain for some places in Uttarakhand for June 30. The rain-spell with varying intensity will continue for a few more days, as per the weather forecast.
While it is raining heavily or moderately in several places in Garhwal region it is eluding Dehradun. With rain inexplicably leaving out Doon, the people have been grappling with humid-hot weather for the past few days. “We are sweating a lot nowadays and this is leaving us quite exhausted. Though the heat is no longer scorching here the humidity-tinged heat is no less difficult to bear. We are waiting for the rain-relief impatiently,” said a Doon resident.
