Heavy rain warning issued again for eight districts

With the trend of light to moderate rains with heavy spells in various parts continuing on Monday, the State meteorological centre has once again issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall in parts of eight districts on Tuesday. The meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Tuesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State.

Further, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Almora districts, and at many places in the remaining districts of the State today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, one or two of which may be intense in some areas.

The Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Monday were 32.5 degrees Celsius and 24.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.8 degrees Celsius and 25.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.6 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.1 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 42.5 millimetres rain in Narendranagar, 40.5 millimetres in Berinag, 16 millimetres in Nainital and 3.1 millimetres in Mukteshwar.
