Heavy rain warning issued for 4 districts today
Light to moderate rain likely to occur in most places

After suffering high temperatures for many days, people in most parts of the State may experience some relief today. While provisional State capital Dehradun received a spell of rain on Wednesday evening, the State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Thursday. Further, gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places especially in plains of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at most places with intense showers at isolated places in the State’s districts. Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain/thundershowers likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 38 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Thursday. Meanwhile, there was 27.5 millimetres rain in Uttarkashi, 21.5 millimetres in Jakholi and 10.5 millimetres in Song. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Wednesday were 39.9 degrees Celsius and 26.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 39 degrees Celsius and 27.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 28.5 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 29 degrees Celsius and 19.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
