Heavy rain warning issued for Dehradun & four other districts

Light to moderate rain was witnessed in various parts of the State on Friday. Meanwhile, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in five districts. The heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Saturday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the mountainous districts and at many places in the plain districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, 40.5 millimetres of rain was reported in Tanakpur, 18 millimetres in Kanatal, 14 millimetres in Mukteshwar, 11.5 millimetres in Bhimtal, 11 millimetres in Laldhang, five millimetres in Lansdowne and 2.7 millimetres in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Friday were 33.9 degrees Celsius and 24.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31.6 degrees Celsius and 26.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.2 degrees Celsius and 15.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.8 degrees Celsius snad 17.7 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
