Heavy rain warning issued for five districts
Rain/thunderstorms likely at most places in Dehradun today

The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Chamoli and Bageshwar districts on Friday. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State today. In addition to this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts, at a few places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State.
Meanwhile, people in the provisional State capital Dehradun may also get some relief from the hot and humid conditions being experienced for the past couple of days. The meteorological centre has forecast that Dehradun will witness a generally cloudy sky. One to two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Thursday were 31.2 degrees Celsius and 24.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.8 degrees Celsius and 26.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.5 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.1 degrees Celsius and 19.3 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in various places on Thursday with 61 millimetres in Rudrapur, 36 millimetres in Ghat, 30 millimetres in Agastyamuni, 29 millimetres in Jageshwar, 17 millimetres in Almora and 13 millimetres in Jolly Grant.
