Heavy rain warning issued for six districts

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are also likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, Almora and Haridwar districts and at most places in the remaining districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur of which one or two spells may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 35.7 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.1 degrees Celsius and 28.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.4 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.9 degrees Celsius and 17.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
