Heavy rain warning issued for six districts

Heavy rain on Friday night caused considerable damage in some parts of the State. Light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Saturday. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Nainital, and Pithoragarh districts today. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining mountainous districts of the State on Sunday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts, at many places in Tehri and Pauri districts and at most places in the remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Moderate to heavy rain/thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, there was 53.4 millimetres of rain in Mussoorie, 31 millimetres in Chamba, 20.5 millimetres in Lansdowne and 20 millimetres in Dehradun on Saturday.
