Heavy rain warning issued for six districts

Despite the heavy rain warning for some parts of the State, light rain was witnessed in some areas on Saturday. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Be Updated) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Sunday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Uttarkashi, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Champawat and Nainital districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts on Saturday were 33.7 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.5 degrees Celsius and 26.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25 degrees Celsius and 15.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.3 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 8.5 millimetres rain in Rikhnikhal, 7.6 millimetres in Naintal and 6.5 millimetres in Berinag.
