Heavy rain warning issued for six districts including Dehradun

Light to moderate rain was witnessed in various parts of the State on Thursday. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Friday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at many places in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, 26 millimetres of rain was recorded in Mussoorie and Raiwala each, 23.5 millimetres in Lansdowne, 22.5 millimetres in Chinyalisaud, 19.5 millimetres in Tehri, 18 millimetres in Gadarpur and 14.4 millimetres in Dehradun.
The maximum and minimum temperatures were 31.6 degrees Celsius and 24.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21.2 degrees Celsius and 25.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
