Heavy rain yellow warning issued for six districts

Most parts of Uttarakhand experienced respite on Thursday from the heavy rain experienced in various parts on Wednesday. However, the State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Friday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense to very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State’s districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts and at most places in the remaining districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was reported in various areas with 24.5 millimetres in Didihat, 13 millimetres in Lohaghat, 12.5 millimetres in Gangolihat and 12 millimetres in Kichha. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Thursday were 29.1 degrees Celsius and 23.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.5 degrees Celsius and 24.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.5 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.8 degrees Celsius and 17.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
