The state meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall with intense spells at isolated places in districts of Kumaon region and adjoining districts of Garhwal region on Thursday.
Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are also likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous parts of the state. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in districts of Kumaon region and at many places in districts of Garhwal region today. In the provisional state capital Dehradun, one or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively on Thursday.
