Heavy rainfall forecast in six districts today

After days of hot weather, people in the state may experience some relief today as light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at most places on Friday. However, the state meteorological centre has also issued an alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall occurring at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital districts today. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Tehri, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and intense shower likely to occur at isolated places in the above mentioned districts whereas squalls (50-60 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in the plains of the state.

The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy sky with possibility of heavy rain accompanied with squall (50- 60 kmph). The maximum and minimum temperatures here are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively on Friday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places in the state on Thursday were 36.4 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37.6 degrees Celsius and 28.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 27.4 degrees Celsius and 16.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27.8 degrees Celsius and 19.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
